New York Post Runs Aerosmith Scandal Story

Sunday's edition of "The New York Post" ran a front page story under the banner, "NYPD BIG UNDER FIRE IN AEROSMITH 'GOT A GUN' SCANDAL." The paper claims that "A top NYPD official is being probed for helping veteran rockers Steven Tyler and Joe Perry obtain pistol licenses in return for alleged VIP treatment at an Aerosmith concert and ritzy after-party." Deputy Inspector Benjamin Petrofsky, former head of the NYPD License Division, is under fire of two probes in which Tyler and Perry were able to get "carry permits" which allowed the toxic twins to legally hold concealed handguns in the Big Apple. So, what do these over-the-hill Toxic Twins, who are now sober, want with gun permits? Well, the first domino fell in the fall of 2001 when Tyler and Perry approached the NYPD License Division for weapon permits. Apparently, the duo have been having problems with stalkers over the past ten years and already possess gun licenses in Massachusets and several other states. In November of 2001, Petrofsky, allegedly took a trip to Madison Square Garden to fingerprint the duo before one of their shows that night. Soon after the boys were issued permits. After a sergeant in Petrofsky's unit secretly recorded Petrofsky brag about his night out with Aerosmith, Internal Affairs jumped in and started their investigation. Petrofsky remains under probe.
