Team in Training provides you with the coaching and training to walk or run a whole or half marathon and even the travel opportunities to make your athletic goals a reality. The Kiwanis Club of Oxnard will be hosting our 52nd Annual Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, May 6, 2006 at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center - Patio (800 Hobson Way). Members will be serving pancakes, sausages, fruit juice, coffee or milk. Tickets are available at the door and from Kiwanis members for $5.00. All proceeds will go to various community service projects. Please join us for a great breakfast and prizes and a lot of fun!   "Heritage Square Celebration", a Family Day of Fun!  11-3pm    (Kids)
Share the fun of history with your family and celebrate the Square’s 15th anniversary and the 100th Birthday of the Heritage Square Hall. Enjoy period games, antique music boxes, crafts, and exhibits for the whole family. When you want to take a rest for a few minutes, enjoy a snack of complementary birthday cake, tea, and cookies in the rose garden with Mrs. Stella Manners, and learn about Victorian etiquette. This free event is hosted by The Friends of Heritage Square.
Heritage Square is located in historic downtown Oxnard, in between 7th and 8th Streets and “A” and “B” Streets.

Families and Kids are encouraged to participate in the American Lung Association's Annual Asthma Walk @ the Ventura Harbor Village. There will be a Jolly Jumper, Cotton Candy, Popcorn Machine, Face Painting and Music for kids. Free information about Asthma can be available for the public.

  MANY MANSIONS KICK-OFF DUCK RACE   12:00-2:00pm    (Charity)
Got Ducks? It that time of year where rubber duckies put on their shades and get ready for the Many Mansions Duck Race! Many Mansions is partnering up with Outback Steakhouse at the Lakes to host the Aussie-Style DUCK Rally Fundraiser on May 7th, 2006 from 12:00-2:00pm.
This event is the official kick-off to the 8th Many Mansions Duck Race that will be held on May 21, 2006 from 11am-3pm at the Lakes in Thousand Oaks. Each guest will have a choice of 9 oz. center cut sirloin, an 11 oz. salmon filet or an 8 oz. chicken breast served with rice, a small caesar salad and a beverage. The Children’s meal includes a beverage and a choice of a cheeseburger or chicken fingers with french fries. Tickets are available for $15.00 for Adults and $5.00 for children and can be purchased through Many Mansions or Outback Steakhouse the day of the event.
The proceeds from the DUCK Rally Fundraiser benefit Many Mansions’ Children Services Department which provides a safe haven for resident children through the Homework/Literacy Club, Kids Café, Summer Camp and Teen Club. Borderline in T.O. is hosting a fundraiser to raise money for the Fallen Heroes Memorial Fund. It's a college night, so it's 18 and over. Come dressed in camouflage. There will be a raffle. Money raised will be used to build a memorial for the local men and women who lost their lives in Iraq and Afghanastan. Any money raised after that will be used for scholarships. So, come out and have a good time and support a good cause. Hope to see everyone there.

At 2:00pm, we'll release 10,000 rubber ducks for the main race and cheer them on as they speed to the finish line. Proceeds will support Many Mansions' Children Services Program.

Avon Mini Walks Team and Starbucks is sponsoring a mini walk at the Starbucks 587 W. Channel Islands Blvd., Port Hueneme, CA. It is a walk to raise funds for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. Each walker will donate $20 pre-registered or $30 at the door to walk for 1 to 4 hours/3 to 12 miles. At the end of the walk they will receive a goody bag filled with coupons and discounts from local merchants. It is for a great cause and lots of fun! We will also be raffling off several gift certificates from local restaurants and merchants.

Back by popular demand is Lee Otsubo, The Digital Photo Guy, at this month's general meeting of the Channel Islands PC Users Group. His presentation this year will be on learning "Lee's Rules of 3's" for setting up your digital camera to get optimal results and enhance your digital photography experience. The 2½-hour meeting is held on Saturday, May 27, 2006, at 9:30 a.m. and the meeting is open to the public and is free. The club's monthly 20-page newsletter is available for all guests. The meeting location is at the Boys and Girls Club of Camarillo, 1500 Temple Avenue, at the southeastern corner of Ponderosa Drive and Temple Avenue, in Camarillo.
