Roskilde Festival Sold Out
The Roskilde Festival, one of the biggest summer music festivals in Europe, is a sell-out with all 70,000 tickets unloaded two weeks ahead of the opening, organisers in Denmark said. It was the first time since 1998 that tickets have been sold so quickly. Lucky fans of rock and pop music who managed to get their hands on tickets will be able to take in some 150 groups on six stages from June 26 to 29, including Bjork, Blur, Coldplay, Dave Gahan, Metallica, The Cardigans, Zwan and others. A tragic shadow was cast over the festival in June 2000 when nine people were crushed to death during a Pearl Jam concert. Created in 1971, the Roskilde Festival takes place some 30 kilometers (20 miles) west of Copenhagen. COPENHAGEN (AFP)
