Lynyrd Skynyrd Cancels Greek Theater Concert

Lynyrd Skynyrd's show at the Greek Theatre Thursday August 14th was originally postponed after guitarist Gary Rossington experienced health problems. According to the Greek Theatre website, the show has been cancelled. Refunds should be obtained at the point of purchase.

Rossington had open-heart surgery in February and was cleared to tour in support of their new album Vicious Cycle. However, Skynyrd dropped some shows in recent days because of Rossington's medical fatigue, and they've now scrapped the rest of the coheadlining tour, after Rossington was diagnosed as having suffered a mild seizure. Rossington has been ordered to take three weeks off to recuperate, and he and Skynyrd should be ready to go on August 23, when the band kicks off its own headlining tour in Omaha, Nebraska.

Hagar wishes the best for Rossington and Skynyrd, but he's staying on the road. He and his WaboRitas band will play a few dates this month, including the three shows they already announced with a reunited Montrose, his first group, and there could be more concerts added. Hagar is also planning his annual "Birthday Bash" for October at his Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
