More Van Halen Rumors
It's looking more and more likely that there will be a Van Halen tour later this year. Bassist Michael Anthony was recently presented with a custom-painted instrument by artist Christian Lassen at a gallery in La Jolla, California, according to The San Diego Reader. Anthony was quoted as saying, "It's something that I will probably use in the studio and when we go out live this year." This follows Anthony's appearance last month at the International Music Products Association convention in Anaheim, California, when he said a new album would be released in the fall with a tour to follow. The bassist has declined to say who the lead singer of Van Halen is, but Dweezil Zappa told LAUNCH that original frontman David Lee Roth is back with the band, and that they've recorded five or six songs. A spokesperson for the group was unavailable at press time. -- Bruce Simon, New York (lanch.com)
