R.E.M. In The Spotlight
If first-day sales are any indication, the new collection from R.E.M. is headed to Number One in England. Reveal, the band's 12th studio album, sold more than 33,000 copies on Monday (May 14), the day it came out in the U.K., according to published reports. Behind it are the new Bon Jovi live album, One Wild Night, and Exciter, the latest release from Depeche Mode. Final British sales numbers and chart positions will be released early next week. Reveal was released in the U.S. yesterday (May 15), as was the Depeche Mode album, while the Bon Jovi live collection comes out next week. -- Bruce Simon, New York (launch.com)
