Tom Petty Says New Album Hard To Define NEW YORK (AP) - Tom Petty says the sound of the new Heartbreakers' album is hard to define, but adds that it will make sense when people hear it.“I don't know how to put a name on it; you'll have to hear it to understand it," the singer said. "There is some orchestration involved; it's a little more thematic than a lot of work we've done (in the past)." Petty and the Heartbreakers were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Monday. He thinks the Heartbreaker name still has a musical life to it — but also admits it has some drawbacks. "Women really can't resist us, and it's always been a problem that goes on to this day." |
