Bridge School Benefit Performers Named

Foo Fighters, Radiohead's Thom Yorke, Ryan Adams, James Taylor, Vanessa Carlton, the Other Ones, Jack Johnson, and Tenacious D will join Neil Young at the 16th annual Bridge School Benefit acoustic concerts, set for Oct. 26-27 at Shoreline Amphitheater outside of San Francisco. Young, and his wife Pegi, founded the Bridge School as a learning facility for physically challenged and severely speech-impaired children.

Foo Fighters will only play on Oct. 26, while the Other Ones -- which features the surviving members of the Grateful Dead -- will only play on Oct. 27.

For Yorke, it will mark his first-ever solo appearances, excluding a 1998 Tibetan freedom rally set in Washington, D.C., and a handful of one-offs with other members of Radiohead. The group is at work on its next Capitol studio album, due next year. The shows will also come on the heels of the Oct. 22 release of the Foo Fighters' new RCA album, "One by One."

Last year's Bridge benefits featured Young, Pearl Jam, R.E.M., Dave Matthews, Tracy Chapman, Billy Idol, Ben Harper, and Jill Sobule.
