The Boss Joined By Special Guest

Bruce Springsteen was joined onstage Tuesday (November 19) in Birmingham, Alabama, by Emmylou Harris for an acoustic rendition of "My Hometown."

An avowed Springsteen fan, Harris covered his songs "The Price You Pay" on her 1981 album Cimarron and "Racing In The Street" on the 1982 live set Last Dance.
Harris is just the latest guest to make a cameo on this year's Springsteen tour with the E Street Band, which is in support of the album The Rising. The group was joined September 25 in Chicago by Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder and November 3 in Dallas by Don Henley of the Eagles, in addition to appearances from Elliot Murphy on several European stops.
Making its tour debut earlier in the Birmingham show was "Darlington County." The song was played often on Springsteen's 1990-2000 reunion tour with the E Street Band, but people speculated that he hadn't played the song this time out because of a lyric about "the World Trade Centers."
The group kicked off a second round of encores with "Cadillac Ranch," at which time a fan tossed a houndstooth hat onstage, similar to the one University Of Alabama football coach Paul "Bear" Bryant always wore. Springsteen picked the hat up and wore it for the entire number.
Springsteen and the E Street Band begin a run of Florida shows on Thursday (November 21) at the T.D. Waterhouse Centre in Orlando, followed by dates at American Airlines Arena in Miami on Saturday (November 23) and the Ice Palace in Tampa on Sunday (November 24).
